I happened to drop by the China Town at Singapore only just to visit the Tintin Shop. Created by the Belgian cartoonist Hergé, having its origin in the early 1900s, Tintin still remains the evergreen reporter and adventurer who travels around the world with his dog Snowy.
This giant Tintin statue remains at the entrance to welcome the visitors to the store. I quickly grabbed a shot of Tintin and Snowy once I happened to locate the store around the Pagoda Street. This is a photo I took in late 2012.
I bought a number of miniature PVC figurines from the Singapore Tintin Shop. I brought Captain Haddock, Snowy, and Thompson and Thompson from there. I am a fan of pop culture and therefore these had to be among my collectibles! The figurines were pricey yet the miniature ones were affordable. I also bought a red tote-bag from the store that I took inside my luggage when I traveled from Bangladesh to USA.
Many people pose with Captain Haddock here in this location (pictured below) yet I only took a full shot of the Captain.
Me and Shelly actually went to see the animation movie The Adventures of Tintin once it was released in 2011. In this animation movie, the plot has the intrepid reporter Tintin and Captain Haddock set off on a treasure-hunt for a sunken ship that was commanded by Haddock’s ancestor.
I found some interesting Facebook photo posts in Tintin Shop Singapore’s page. These are my favorites:
I love them all! However, my most favorite is the Tintin, Haddock, Nestor figurine featured above.
Here is the trailer of the movie uploaded by ReportingSanDiegoETC channel in YouTube:
Let me share another video on the animation movie uploaded on YouTube by Clevver Movies channel:
The Tintin Shop at UK was very famous yet I had to settle for the Tintin Shop nearby at Singapore since I had not visited UK (I have not really visited UK till now even!). When I went to Singapore, we had to hunt the store down in the Singapore China Town. Here is a video on the location:
This video above was uploaded by Ph Toptv YouTube channel during March, 2012 on the Tintin store at Singapore.
I hope you liked this feature on Tintin. See you later… bye for now!
